Leave a Gift in your Will

Leaving a legacy

You can leave a gift to Chetham’s in your will and leave a lasting footprint.

Chetham’s started with a legacy left by Humphrey Chetham, his request that a school for 40 poor boys and a Library be provided, in Manchester, is his legacy that lives on today.

Over the centuries, individuals have continues with this tradition of generosity by including Chetham’s in their wills. Bequests have been for the buildings, bursaries, Capital Projects, or to be used as an unrestricted gift allowing us to put the money where it is needed most, and enable us to expand the opportunities and excellence we have to offer.

We would not be the organisation we are without the support of legacy giving.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this tradition, please get in touch with the Development Team for more information.

Chetham’s is a registered charity and accordingly, all legacies made are exempt from UK Inheritance and Capital Gains Taxes.

As your will is one of the most important documents you will ever make, Chetham’s recommends that you consult your legal advisers before drafting a new will, updating an existing one, or making other plans for your estate.

Whilst some people prefer to give anonymously, we hope that you will let us know about your legacy gift so that we can thank you properly.
