Full Time – 35 hours per week

We are looking for a Visitor Services Coordinator to help us transform the visitor offer at Chetham’s Library and College House, delivering a world-class welcome and inspirational experience to our readers and visitors.

This is primarily an outward-facing role, and we are looking for someone with energy and motivation who will share our passion for the historic building and its collections, and can inspire and engage a diverse group of visitors, volunteers and audiences. The successful candidate will develop, implement and maintain robust, self-sufficient front-of-house systems and will assist us in positioning Chetham’s Library and College House as a key partner in the cultural landscape of the city and Manchester’s visitor economy.

We share our site with Chetham’s School of Music, and the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safeguarding procedures at all times. This active, visitor-focused role involves a significant amount of time spent out of doors welcoming visitors and tour groups, and supervising volunteers, as well as a commitment to flexible working hours. This post is offered as a fixed term contract of 12 months duration initially.
