Digitisation in collaboration with the Manchester Statistical Society
We are enormously grateful to the Manchester Statistical Society for awarding the Library a very generous grant from their Campion Fund. This has enabled us to purchase an ATIZ Book Drive Mini which is a specialist book scanner with the ability to digitise bound items through the use of a supportive cradle.
Thanks to the Statistical Society we will be making available, free of charge, a number of important resources on the history of Manchester which will appear on these pages as they are digitised.
In addition to this project, a number of our eighteenth century periodicals, including copies of the Harrops Manchester Mercury from 1752-1775, have been digitised and made available on the Eighteenth Century Journals Portal to Newspapers and Periodicals c.1685-1815. A free trial of this excellent resource is available to libraries and academic institutions on the Adam Matthew website.
Chetham’s has also contributed nine Middle English manuscripts to be digitised as part of the Rylands Medieval Collection. Click on the links below to go to the high resolution images.
