Brass Art: Gestured Evening Event
- Saturday 28 October 2017 - 6.00pm - 8.00pm
Join Brass Art for an intimate torchlit tour of the Medieval Museum’s public and hidden spaces. See the artists’ installation ‘Gestured’ illuminated at dusk, accompanied by a live performance from world-renowned Theremin musician Lydia Kavina. Enjoy a smoking, red cocktail created and served by ‘The Alchemist’, in the building forever associated with 16th century scientist and alchemist John Dee.
Book your torchlit tour here.
You will be asked to select a time for your tour, but you are welcome to stay for as long as you like before and after your tour. If you would just like to come and drink cocktails, listen to the theremin and enjoy the atmosphere, there is no need to book – just turn up!
‘Gestured’ is part of Meeting Point2, a year-long project led by contemporary art specialists Arts&Heritage.
Leading UK and international artists have partnered with 10 museums in Yorkshire, the North West and the North East to produce new artworks inspired by the museums and their collections.
Funded by Arts Council England’s Museum Resilience Fund, Meeting Point2 presents artworks in unexpected places and supports small and medium scale museums to commission artists, who will create a piece of work in response to the venue.
