Chetham’s Library and Carcanet Press are delighted to invite you to an evening with critically-acclaimed poet and publisher Stanley Moss.

Stanley Moss was educated at Trinity College (Connecticut) and Yale University and makes his living as a private art dealer, specializing in Spanish and Italian Old Masters. He is the author of The Skull of Adam (1979), The Intelligence of Clouds (1989), Asleep in the Garden (1997), A History of Color (2003), New and Selected Poems (2006), Rejoicing (2009), God Breaketh Not All Men’s Hearts Alike (2011), and Almost Complete Poems (2016). In 1977 he founded Sheep Meadow Press, a nonprofit press devoted to poetry, with a particular focus on international poets in translation. In his role as editor, Stanley has launched the careers of many key voices throughout the decades including Stanley Kunitz, Hayden Carruth, F.T. Prince, Christopher Middleton and Willis Barnstone.

On a rare visit to the UK, Stanley will be reading from his latest book Almost Complete Poems, the definitive collection from this American master.
