Since their launch in 2019, Manchester Baroque has built a reputation for engaging and vibrant performances of historical music on period instruments. Through concerts of chamber music, larger scale orchestral works and oratorios, Manchester Baroque are committed to the continued development of historically informed performances at the centre of the city’s arts culture: Reflecting Manchester’s rich heritage as the world’s original modern city…

Fresh from their three concerts at the Stoller Hall earlier in the year, Manchester Baroque return with a programme which highlights the intimate beauty of six Baroque instruments from the period.  As part of the Medieval Manchester Festival the concert begins with two colourful eighteenth-century settings of the Latin text ‘O Sacred Head, Now Wounded’, written during the Middle Ages. Join us for a programme of enchanting Baroque Chamber Music, with a nod to our Medieval past…
