Mathematician, Alchemist, Astronomer, Spy… Dr John Dee was many things, but what happened to him when he became the Warden of Manchester’s College in the 1590s?

Join us as we share the sorry tale of Dr Dee’s time working in Chetham’s building in Elizabethan Manchester.

Visitors are invited to explore our medieval building, finding transcripts from Dr Dee’s diary along the way, allowing them to learn about Dee, his family and Elizabethan Manchester. In addition, we will have some of Dee’s personal books on display from our collection for visitors to enjoy.
