Inspired by epic adventure stories from 1,001 Arabian Nights, Scheherazade tells the story of a young woman captured by a fiendish King. She uses her wits to cheat death, distracting the King by telling him captivating stories that last 1,001 nights.
Performed by young musicians from Chetham’s School of Music, this concert will introduce children to instruments of the orchestra through classical music.
Inspired by some of the greatest stories ever told, including Aladdin, Sinbad the Sailor, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and more, Scheherazade was written by composer, Rimsky-Kosakov, and will be conducted by Ellie Slorach and presented by Chetham’s Artistic Director, Tom Redmond.
Perfect for children aged 7+, these concerts give children a fun introduction to the orchestra through music and storytelling.
