5pm – Opening Faculty Gala Recital

The opening night of the International Piano Series part two begins with a gala faculty recital. A varied and exciting programme featuring outstanding members of the faculty including Murray McLachlan, Kathryn Page and Peter Donohoe.

7.30pm – Steven Osborne

‘Some pianists gild everything they touch with their own personality; some are like chameleons, finding a new colour for each composer. Last night the wonderful Scottish pianist Steven Osborne did both, which lent the whole evening a miraculous air…every note seemed to vibrate with intelligence’ – The Daily Telegraph

We are thrilled to welcome back Steven Osborne to CIPSS  2021 for his Stoller Hall debut. Steven Osborne’s outstanding conviction, vision and integrity in performance and on disc  is internationally acclaimed. He is one of the UK’s most distinguished musicians. From exhilarating concertos to delicate chamber works, from mainstream Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms to the rarefied worlds of Messiaen, Tippett and Britten, Steven Osborne is at home with the widest range of styles and his carefully crafted recital programmes and idiomatic approach to contrasting works are both publicly and critically acclaimed.
