Join us for a unique family-friendly festival celebrating the 600th anniversary of Manchester’s oldest buildings.
Chetham’s stunning medieval buildings date back to 1421. The history of the city as we know it begins here.
They were originally built to accommodate the priests of Manchester’s Collegiate Church, now Manchester Cathedral. These are the oldest buildings in Manchester.
A two-day festival on Saturday 25 – Sunday 26 September will celebrate the city’s history, and the incredible story of Chetham’s.
Visit Chetham’s historic courtyard for medieval stalls, re-enactments, live music, food and drink.
Explore Chetham’s Library – the oldest public library in the English speaking world – with special guided tours of our medieval site and collections.
Laugh and enjoy Horrible Histories shows in The Stoller Hall at Chetham’s.
