Image INSIDE THE LIBRARY: Chetham’s Library Unbound

The books at Chetham’s Library have a rich binding history. To launch our new theme, ‘Unbound’, we will be hosting this Inside the Library session, highlighting books with unusual or interesting bindings within Chetham’s collection.

From a book bound for King Henry VIII, to bound Buddhist manuscripts made of palm leaves! Join Chetham’s Assistant Librarian Laura Bryer, in her talk about binding in our collection and bookbinding techniques throughout history.

Suitable for ages 16+

For visiting and accessibility information, please see our Visiting Information page.

All proceeds go towards supporting the Library’s collection and medieval building.
